Cool winter days!

Cool winter days!
With the winter days drawing to a close and spring just around the corner, we have had some excellent birding in and around Itororo Lodge! The winter brings cool, clear and sunny days, with temperatures dropping last week at night to an amazing 2 degrees centigrade, but soon warming up to provide great birding opportunities! Highlights have been many including lodge feeders literally “dripping” with birds including Brassy-breasted Tanager, Gilt-edged Tanager, Burnished-buff Tanager, Blue-naped Chlorophonia, Saffron Toucanet, Blond-crested Woodpecker, Magpie Tanager, Plain Parakeet, Maroon-bellied Parakeet and several other species proving great photographic opportunities! We were also lucky enough to observe 2 Brown-throated three-toed Sloths (pictured below) on the Brown Trail within the lodge grounds. These wonderful mammals are now becoming much more reliable at Itororo Lodge! Another highlight last week was a very confiding Black-throated Trogon (pictured above)!
Join us on a future tour to experience this wonderful wildlife of south-east Brazil!
