Open country birding

As our tour continues we have just returned from a day of open country birding, a nice contrast having spent the last 4 days surrounded by forest! As always we saw lots of spectacular birds including Three-toed Jacamar, Black-necked Aracari, Serra Antwren, White-barred Piculet, Red-legged Seriema, White-eared Puffbird, Sapphire-spangled Emerald, Streamer-tailed Tyrant, Sharp-tailed Streamcreeper, Blackish Rail, Gilt-edged Tanager and Tawny-headed Swallow. Photos from today include Itororo Lodge at dawn, Sapphire-spangled Emerald and Savanna Hawk (Andy Foster)
