Our first tour of the Brazilian “spring” started today, although it was a rather cold day with low cloud for several hours. Despite the weather we had a great start to the tour that will be based at Itororo Lodge with highlights including Chestnut-headed Tanager, Saffron Toucanet, Spot-billed Toucanet, Black-billed Scythebill, Brassy-breasted Tanager, Golden-chevroned tanager, Azure-shouldered Tanager, Variegated Antpitta, Cryptic Antthrush, Dusky-tailed Antbird, Yellow-browed Woodpecker and Rufous Gnateater.
