Naturetrek tour begins!

The Rockjumper tour finished well on Friday afternoon picking up a few new species during the morning.
Now onto our next group, a group from Naturetrek for the next 8 days! We spent the afternoon birding the Itororo Lodge grounds and watching the feeders. The feeders were great today with Brassy-breasted Tanager, Magpie Tanager, Golden-chevroned Tanager, Ruby-crowned Tanager, Blue Dacnis, Plain Parakeet, Maroon-bellied Parakeet and hummingbirds including Brazilian Ruby, White-throated Hummingbird, Violet-capped Woodnymph, Scale-throated Hermit and Black Jacobin. Birding around the lodge produced Blond-crested Woodpecker, Yellow-browed Woodpecker, Yellow-eared Woodpecker, Gilt-edged Tanager, Scaled Woodcreeper, Lesser Woodcreeper, Black-Hawk Eagle, Rufous-headed Tanager and Ochre-rumped Antbird amongst others. Photos from today included Plain Parakeet, Rufous-headed Tanager and Yellow-browed Woodpecker (Andy Foster)
