As we continue the Field Guides tour we had a great day with some quality high altitude birding at Pico da Caledonia. A bit cloudy to start off with but the weather soon improved. We saw some super birds today including Black and Gold Cotinga, Swallow-tailed Cotinga, Large-tailed Antshrike, Itatiaia Thistletail, Green-crowned Plovercrest, Diademed Tanager, Serra do Mar Tyrannulet, Rufous-tailed Antthrush, Thick-billed Saltator, Red-legged Seriema, Rufous-tailed Antbird, Blue-billed Black Tyrant and Velvety-black Tyrant.
