Our ongoing tour is going well with plenty of new birds! We spent yesterday birding the open country areas around Duas Barras and Sumidouro seeing some great birds (104 species in total), these included Three-toed Jacamar, White-eared Puffbird, Rufous-headed Tanager, Curl-crested Jay, Orange-eyed Thornbird, Blue-winged Macaw, Wing-banded Hornero, Blackish Rail, Sapphire-spangled Emerald and Black-necked Aracari. Today we birded the Cedae Trail in the morning and part of the M…acae de Cima trail in the afternoon with highlights including Mantled Hawk, Black Hawk Eagle, Black and White Hawk Eagle, Buff-bellied Puffbird, Star-throated Antwren, Sharp-tailed Streamcreeper, Blue Manakin, Spot-billed Toucanet, Rufous-breasted Leaftosser and Black-throated Trogon.
