The Birdfinders trip finished well with a total of 281species seen, and a further 9 being heard only. We spent our last full day at the wetlands picking up just under 30 new species for the trip. Highlights included Sooretama Slaty Antshrike, Lemon-chested Greenlet, Rufous-sided Crake, Scaled Antbird, Rufous-capped Motmot, Eye-ringed Tody-Tyrant, Long-billed Wren, Greater Ani, Chestnut-backed Antshrike and Brazilian Tanager. We spent the final morning of the tour birding the White and Green Trails in the Itororo Lodge grounds picking up an amazing 5 new species! These were Spotted Bamboo Wren, Mouse-coloured Tapaculo, Drab-breasted Bamboo-Tyrant, Yellow Tyrannulet and Black-throated Trogon, not a bad end to the tour!
