Just returned from a days birding the higher reaches of the Serra do Mar Mountains at Pico da Caledonia. Great days birding with lots of excellent birds. Bird of the day has to go to Grey-winged Cotinga, point blank views! Other highlights included Mantled Hawk, Large-tailed Antshrike, Itatiaia Thistletail, Black and Gold Cotinga, Serra do Mar Tyrannulet, Red-legged Seriema, Shear-tailed Grey-Tyrant, Swallow-tailed Cotinga, Bay-chested Warbling Finch and Diademed Tanager.
