Another great days birding today with Marcelo and the group from Field Guides. We spent the day birding the high altitude area around Pico da Caledonia….. fantastic days birding seeing all of our target species and more! Highlights included Grey-winged Cotinga (one of the first birds to be seen of the day!), Black and Gold Cotinga, Swallow-tailed Cotinga, Itatiaia Spinetail, Serra do Mar Tyrannulet, Large-tailed Antshrike, Rufous-backed Antvireo, Bay-chested Warbling Finch, Velvety-black Tyrant, Thick-billed Saltator, Rufous-tailed Antbird, Red-legged Seriema and Half-collared Sparrow! A tiring but very rewarding day!
