Today we headed to the other side of the mountains in search of some drier weather! We drove for an hour towards a small town called Duas Barras and thankfully the weather improved. We had a great days birding with many highlights including Three-toed Jacamar, Crescent-chested Puffbird, White-eared Puffbird, Serra Antwren, Ferruginous Pygmy Owl (pictured below), Streamer-tailed Tyrant, Chestnut-backed Antshrike, Capped Heron, Whistling Heron, Sapphire-spangled Emerald, Black-capped Donacobius, Curl-crested Jay, Red-legged Seriema, Ferruginous Antbird, Surucua Trogon, White Woodpecker, Band-tailed Hornero, White-collared Foliage Gleaner, Plain-winged Woodcreeper, Grey-hooded Attila, Rufous-headed Tanager and Gilt-edged Tanager. In all we saw a total of 93 species today!
