We have just finished our first day of the new tour, a short 4 day private tour where we will aim to see a good cross section of the birds the area around Itororo Lodge has to offer! We departed Rio this morning at 08.00 and by 10.00 we were already arriving at the Lodge. We had a great first days birding with a total of 55 species. Highlights included Saffron Toucanet, Dusky-tailed Antbird, Ochre-rumped Antbird, Variegated Antpitta, Orange-eyed Thornbird, Magpie Tanager, Golden-chevroned Tanager, Maroon-bellied Parakeet, Scale-throated Hermit, Brazilian Ruby, White-throated Hummingbird, Rufous-capped Spinetail, Chicli Spinetail, Pallid Spinetail, Pin-tailed Manakin, Blue Manakin, Greenish Schiffornis, White-rimmed Warbler, Azure-shouldered Tanager and a rather tame Golden-crowned Warbler!
